...and as far as that goes, who has ever complained about the song of a
motor?!?  That was one of the endearing traits of my big beemer - the cam
whine growing in intensity with revs (not to be mistaken for worn out
stuff).

In fact,  I recently had the pleasure of beating up a Porsche Boxter (best
damn LBC (little Bavarian car) I've ever driven).  It has an even more
pronounced whine that I'm SURE was designed in to let the driver KNOW
something was special under the cowl !!!!
