Scott,
TRF has both vinyl and leather seats for the Spitfire4 through 1500 but not
all colours are necessarily available in leather. I believe the kits are
made by Newton Commercial in England. I got the high back tan kit for my 70
Spit...looks great, but I haven't started the installation yet....too much
top down driving yet to do :-) and I'm still looking for a drivers side
seat frame.

15 degrees celsius today...bright sun...Monza exhaust...big, Big, BIG
Grin!!!

Michael,
Back in the mid seventies I got a pair of Shadow Blue high back seats from
a 69 TR6...the ones with the fold down head rests. I put these in my 62 TR4
(signal red, black interior) because the originals had lost their 'spring'.
I got some black vinyl paint and painted these seats. I have touched them
up once or twice since, but they are still in that car. These vinyl paints
or dyes are what the Top Shops and Re-Upholstery places use. No, I didn't
do the piping in a different colour...the TR6 seats were one solid colour I
think (not really sure now)...regardless, I don't think one would be too
successful with this paint in a different colour on the piping ...YMMV...so
prove me wrong <S>.

Good luck
Keith Stewart

some spitfires (at least, probably other triumphs too) came with leather as
o.e., but where would I find a decent reupholstering kit for leather? I
think I heard some place in england makes 'em (forget the name) and vicky
brit lists a black/black kit for something like $400, so there must be
something about it to justify the extra $200 (the nice lady who answered
the phone there couldn't say). any experiences out there? I gotta redo my
seats anyway, figure I might as well go all out...

it. just don't flame me... please... I won't even change the original
color. I left the generator on it! and I definitely _don't_ want to put a
judson superchager in it. honest.
