Roger,
I just did this last weekend.  All I can offer you is to have patience when
doing it.  On the fuzzy inner seal I installed the clip on the door then fit
the seal to the clip.  I used an awl to clip them secure.

 I to made a tool, though my wife was none to happy when she saw what had
become of her soup spoon.  She was understanding when she saw that it
worked...
