If you are going to put ANYTHING different in it, might as well make it
dependable/efficient/stronger.
Power to weight is much better than with a I6 I would imagine. I have a
4.0 in my Jeep, but would NEVER stick it in a Spitfire......

I am not going to do it, it was just a thought.....
I am going to stick with the GT6 tub swap! (when I get another car that
is)

P.S. *Sumitomo's are good/cheap tires too :)

Aarrgghh!!! Who would put a Japanese engine in a fine, classic British
sports car???? I thought putting Japanese tires on one was bad enough.

Anyone ever attempted a Toyota 22R swap?
These 2.4 engines are GREAT. They can be beefed up cheap too.
I have always wondered how a Spit would perform with Toyota
engine/trans/rear....not to mention the DEPENDABILITY.

Man, I'd think it'd be MUCH taller. But, to think - all that power,
and you'd STILL get your oil leaks! My '99 Wrangler 4.0l just started
leaking - good girl! ;-)
