        Using this advice I just went out to my body tub up on saw horses and
worked at removing the wiper motor.  Hmm, it wouldn't come off.  The cable
wouldn't release.  Everything was unscrewed and separate so it should have
worked on this '66 Spit.  I ended up taking off the four sheet metal cover
screws that keep the top cover over the gear assembly off and the removing
the shaft from there.  Took the opportunity to clean it a bit before
putting it into the box of parts removed from the firewall.  
 
        I can see I'm going to have a lot of work scraping the undercoating
someone put on over this bodywork. Bleah.
