Steve, I found an almost perfect starting point for making the necessary tool.
It's one of those metal blanking plates from the back of a PC. It has a small
end lip (about 1/2 inch) that can be bent to hold the clip and additionally if
you bend the ends of the lip slightly you can stop the clip slipping out
sideways. For fitting in its a case of drop clip in tool, slide along the door
to the right spot and pull up holding the new rubber in place. Takes only
minutes to do them all Clip cannot fall or slide or move off the correct
location.

When the inner and outer waist seals are installed, is it necessary to remove
the windows and all of the crank paraphenalia? If not, how much do you have
to remove if anything and do you need any special tools? Is it a major
project?
