Hi Listers,

I went to a scrapyard for the first time ever today:

"Hi, Im looking for an alternator off a Rover 200 series."

"Right, come this way."

"I need an A one-two-sev....."

"There you go mate, you know what you're looking for."

I was presented with approximatly 100 million alternators to rumage
through (to the nearest thousand) and had no idea what I was looking for
apart from an "A127"

Bosch... nope... Rover... yes... A127... yep... 65... fantastic... hurrah...

The second one I picked up was perfect.

Anyway, now Ive got this alternator, once Ive figured out how to get the
damn pulley wheel thing off, Im wondering about the load on the wires...
going from 30ish to 65 is a big jump, I can image my wiring loom frying
itself.

Are there any precautions I can take? I can hardly uprate the wires in the
loom... is there one wire that I can disconnect and bypass the loom with?
