Maybe, but certain electrical components can start to go wrong when
warm... a coil I had in my 1500 was playing up - when replaced, it worked
much better. But as that's all been replaced I doubt it is that...

I reckon youre right with the heatshield diagnosis though... mine had
similar symptoms when it was left off once... by my uncle I might add!
