Yes, Triumph did stroke the crank to increase cc's, but only from the later,
large-journal 1296 motor to the 1493 ("1500") motor. All the earlier engines,
going back to the original 803cc Standard 8 engine of 1953, had the same 76mm
stroke. AFAIK, later 1147 and EARLY 1296 cranks are essentially the same
(earlier 1147 cranks differed somewhat in details such as the rear oil seal, I
think).
