olds don't even know what my car is. Your best bet here is to see if Frank

procedures. If you were his child, you'd have an LBC as your daily driver
and all repairs and maintenance would be done promptly, expertly, and at
zero cost to you. This includes "road service" such as changing fuel pumps
on the Turnpike in terrential rain while traffic wizzes by @ 70 mph. This
service takes place with a spare pump that you just happen to have with you
100 miles from home. If you have someone like Frank in your life - BUY THE
CAR. Otherwise, be aware (or is that beware) of what you are getting into.
Any car of this age is going to need some extra attention and most large
monetary repairs will occur the same day that you purchase 5 new text books
for your current semester. Actually, I've been here before - I had a '74
Midget in college in the mid - late 80s. The unpredictability of the cash
out-flows made it very difficult to keep the car as my daily driver. I
reluctantly sold it and bought my first new car, a um er a it was a, well a
Suzuki Samurai. Say what you will, but it was fun and gave me 60,000
carefree miles and a budgetable $189/mnth payment.
Don't get me wrong, these LBCs are great, regardless of what Mark you
choose. Just don't have unrealistic expectations of a car that is 25 to 40

I'm joining this list because I am considering purchasing a
spridget, and thought this would be an excellent resource for my questions,
and I have just a few! First of all I'm a 20 year old college student, so
money is definitely an issue. I really like the frogeyes, (hey I'm a girl
and they're cute!) but I question the practicality of them as daily drivers.
I commute about 60-70 miles a day for work, so break downs would be a huge
inconvienience, besides the monetary issues! I also wondered if anyone has
had any problems with vandilism, my work is not in the greatest of
neighborhoods (though far from the worst). I was also wondering about the
cost of upkeep, I would be doing what work I can, but don't have a lot of
time or money to be putting into the car. I have gotten a lot of technical
info from my boyfriend and the mg list, but if anyone has any advice for
what someone like me might want to get it would be greatly appriciated.
