Am I the only honest man on the list?? I tell people that I love my Midget
to drive and it gives me many more hours of entertainment in the garage than
it does on the road. Spridgets were the El Cheapo sports cars of their day,
but they, like the Fiat 850 Coupe I owned are a ball to drive. No way do I
pretend that Spridgets are known for either reliability or quality. They
are, however, known for *fun*!!

My original argument was aimed more at an auto manufacturer with no
experience in such a venture trying to produce a rugged and utilitarian
vehicle for general use in America. Fiat has plenty of experience with
producing city cars and sports (think: Dino & Abarth) cars but they have
absolutely no experience producing vehicles like the Dodge Challenger, the
Dodge Charger, and the Dodge Ram trucks which are ubiquitous across much of
America.

As I said before. The Fiat 500 is a cool little car and probably fun to
drive. But it ain't gonna haul two round bales 1/2 mile across the dirt
roads on the ranch to feed the cattle and it ain't gonna last long at the
rate of 30K miles annually in rural America. And THAT is why a Chrysler
Corp. managed by Fiat will loose a large part of their market.
