Sorry to bomb the whole list with this, but Paul's return address did not work!

Paul:

Thanks for the info. The right battery hold down "bracket" does indeed have
2 holes for attachment of the solenoid. Interestingly none of the many
cars I looked at this summer at shows had the solenoid mounted there - all
had variations of the mount location I described.

While I have your attention, there are a couple of other questions you may
be able to answer:

1. Can you describe the mounting hardware for the solenoid? You mention
small nut and bolt - is the bolt, hex, slotted, phillips, ...? Are
washers and lock washers used. Does the nut appear on the battery or
   solenoid side?

2. Do you have a stock radio? Do you have any idea what the stock
speaker looks like (6 x 9?)? I also need to know where the
speaker mounts. Ours came with the radio but no speaker! The
sucker would light up but never produce sound! After dis-assembly,
I noticed speaker wires but no speaker!

3. What does the bracket look like into which the flasher unit mounts.
As you probably know, this goes under the dash above the dip-switch.
During my dis-assembly a year ago, this part seems to have "walked"
despite my careful bagging and labelling.

Interestingly, your car (CTC 78299 LO) is only 21 earlier than ours (CTC
78320 L). Ours was originally Triumph racing green with black interior and
top. We've redone it in valencia blue (a TR250 colour) with tan interior
and bisque top/tonneau. We replaced the Datsun alloy wheels with new
painted Dayton wire
wheels.

Perhaps you could describe your car?

Well, I really should get back to work! Thanks again for your help.

Brian
