My 57 TR3 was built signal red, and the bows were the same color. The
mounting plates should be natural metal since they were attached after
the straps. The straps were a light tan, but over the years were very
dirty tan when replaced.
People are painting the bows black since they look a bit better against
the black of the roof material. I did mine the same as the new color
of the car - BRG, at it really doesn't look good. I'll be painting
them black this winter. TRF has the webbing and the mounting plates.
Remember that there are two kinds of mounting plates, the ones on the
middle and rear bow, and a more angled type on the front bows. Also,
where the webbing attaches to the body there should be two plates with
the webbing wrapped around the inner plate.
With the white top you might want to use a light color to make the bows
blend into the lower surface of the top.
