Joe--duties are assessed on the declaration made by the foreign
shipper--doesn't matter if it's sent to a business address, or an
individual. All British companies should make a declaration when
shipping to the US; if they don't, the addressee can be levied VAT,
which is considerably higher than US duty (and should only be added for
their domestic customers). Anyone buying from the UK should figure on
about 7% more, based on the current rate of exchange for the British
pound, to figure in US duties. Moreover, for items shipped by USPS on
this end, there is a customs form attached to the shipping tag adding
customs charges to the shipping charges, collectable as a COD.
Cheers.
