Ironic that you should ask.  Yes, my TR6 had a pinstripe, which I just
spent part of last Saturday removing. The pinstripe was a double white
stripe, matching the white "TR6" insignia on the side of each rear
fender. 

In answer to your second question, I don't know the authenticity of the
stripe on the TR6's, although I have seen plenty with them.  My personal
preference tells me that the stripe was an "americanization" of the car,
and I prefer no stripe.  Mine was a tape stripe, so could have been
applied by either a previous owner, or the original dealer.
