I agree with Larry Zink.  Use the same oil in your dashpots that you use in the
engine crankcase. 

I've been running Castrol Syntec 5w50 full synthetic oil in the engine and in
the dashpots.  

My thinking was that a multiple viscosity oil gives you "thin" oil when it's
cold outside and "thick" oil when it's hot outside which is what I think you
want with both the engine and the dashpots.  It's worked great so far.  I'd been
using ATF but it seemed like I had to top the dashpots more often.  The 5w50
seemed to make for smoother running and shifting.
