I have been thinking more about this.  Certainly the air sucked in through
the PCV will lean the mixture.  Your problem may be the volume of air going
through the PCV.  I THINK the engine is supposed to brety well sealed, and
only the blow by is passing through the PCV.  In your case, where is all
that air coming from.  How much air is normal?  Do you have an air leak
somewhere?  With your PCV hose removed from the rocker cover, how much air
comes out?

SOme of these questions you can answer, but the question of what is normal,
and why are much tougher.  When I get mine back on the road, I will have
some data we can use to compare.
