Hi folks;

Like the transmission tunnel cover the cargo area deck/ fuel tank cover and
spare tire compartment cover were not one of the UK's premier engineering
achievements. Mine looked like potato chips. I replaced them with 3/8" thick
birch plywood from the local home center. Used the old ones as templates and
cut them to shape with a band saw. Used a router to shape the hand holes,
cargo strap holes and to create a depression at the rear of the panels to
accept the retaining clip. Add the snap in connectors at the front and you're
ready to go. I finished both sides of the new deck with sealer and clear
polyurethane after a thorough sanding. I sanded between coats and got a great
finish. I've had these covers for five years and they haven't changed a bit!
