I am pretty sure that the TR7 crank can't be Nitrided.
Only nitridable steels can be treated this way, otherwise all you 
can do is tuftride them which is what they do to Stag cranks.
Tuftriding hardens the surface which means if you do run a 
bearing it rarely damages the crank.
Both treatments can bend cranks due to the stresss involved.
