Sorry guys but the Tr4's I have had always had the cable route forward from the 
angle drive under the tranny cover, into the engine bay, up through the 
horizontal hole on the firewall (above the slave) and into the firewall almost 
directly behing the speedo.  It never enters the passenger area at all !

please let us know any answers to your OD cable routing query..
In my own prep - I just figured the the tranny/speedo cable shoots straight 
out of the tranny and through the boot of the parking brake arm and then back 
up through the cardboard tranny cover close to the firewall (rubber plugged 
hole for OD wiring too) and then to speedo. On page 306 of the Brooklands TR4 
Parts Book you can get a rough idea of optimum OD speedo cable curvature but 
doesn't show obstacles and aperatures.
