Haven't read the book, but there was an article in the Los Angeles Times
a few days ago that CA is considering moving back the cutoff for smog
inspection.
Gonna be a _lot_ of unhappy people who bought 70-73 cars just so they
didn't have to be smogged ...
(The article did not mention a date, I'm just assuming that 1970 is a
likely target.)
