This happened here in N. Va. few years back, a 68 Mustang owner had a total
loss after his car was stolen, State Farm offered a settlement of $4500. the
owner sued State Farm for 10K replacement, when they went to court State Farm
produced his tax bill where he claimed the tax value of $500.00, judgement to
State Farm for $500.00, this happened, every so often the tax dept will ask
for proof of insurance on a car, you get caught if you have agreed value.
