I understand completely... brought that same $#%!@ transmission rubber
molding for $15... what a scam.
Two suggestions.
Try either a local vacuum repair store... they may surprise you with
something in the back.
Also, look at http://www.aircraftspruce.com which carries many interesting
items which may suit your needs. You may order their catalog for free...
if I recall, they have a wide variety of tubing for venting purposes. I
was once considering connecting my air filter intake to the radiator cover
to provide a cold air supply (someone on the List did it before). They may
have something that will do the trick.
