Tony,
This is an interesting question.  There has been some debate going on 
concerning the finish of the caps.  Early TR4's with steel caps should be 
painted 
black.  Later TR4's and TR4A's with aluminum caps should be natural finish.  
All 
M/C bodies are natural finish.
