Hi Mike

AFAIK the o/d transmission from a 2000, 2500 and 2.5 PI will fit a TR6
engine without modification. Might be something to consider and FWIW I do
have one from a 2.5 PI that I'll trade for a GT6 or Vitesse 2 liter Mk1 o/d
transmission.

Transmission experts: Why can't one modify a non-o/d mainshaft into an o/d
mainshaft? AFAIK the o/d mainshaft is a bit longer than the non-o/d shahaft.
So, just a wild guess, but it would seem possible to cut the shaft to the
appropriate length and cut new splines. Am I missing something?

I'll be doing a restoration of my 72 TR6 this winter and would dearly
love to convert it to an O/D car. Since the O/D can't be just bolted on
without changing the tranny mainshaft I'd rather just swap the existing
tranny for one equipped with O/D. Anyone got a functional one they're
willing to part with?
