Joe, its funny you mention that...  Everytime my wife drives our TR6, as 
soon as she comes home, she gripes at me to "tune that damn thing up so my 
clothes don't smell like gasoline and exhaust".   I keep telling her that 
it IS tuned.

I can identify with the "Unburned Hydrocarbons argument.  In fact every
time I drive my street Spit (Mk1) even for a short run to the store, I
smell like raw gasoline from the exhaust being whipped forward into the
cockpit.  I assume that most of our beloved cars have that problem due
to the rather crude way that the carbs are configured. 

I have in fact embarked on a study to see if I can affordably install an
EFI system that will make the car run better, more efficiently and more
reliably.  This would effectively solve the smell problem and hopefully
get my wife to once again ride with me.

If anyone is interested in what I come up with, let me know and I'll
send you updates.
