My cars have also had what appears to be rubber-impregnated cloth, sorta
like friction tape.  Years ago I just walked into an auto glass shop and
asked for it, they sold me a roll for a few bucks.  Went in a lot easier
than what I've heard about the rubber stuff from Moss et al.
