All evap systems need a way to seperate any liquid fuel that might splash 
into the vapor system.  Having not seen the TR6 system, I suspect the tubes you 
are talking about are part of a maze to prevent liquid from hitting the carbon 
canister.

In theory, if you dump the evap system the car will run ever so slightly lean 
( more so just after a cold start ) because the vapors are not being drawn 
into the intake.  

In practice, if you plug the vacuum line to the intake to prevent a large 
leak, the motor really won't know the difference.   You will however need to 
vent 
the tank and deal with fuel vapors coming from the tank.  ( a small garage 
can smell like gas in a short time.)
