On my 1973 TR6, I used a Wahler Thermo Switch that I sourced from
Performance Parts. They call it "Porsche 944 Low Temperature Thermo Fan
Switch P/N 924491". It was about $16.00. (Pelican Parts also offers the
same thing under P/N 823-959-481F75 for $10.10 amd EightyOne Motorsports
offers it as P/N EO951 606 481 00 for $20 so shop around, your mileage may
vary) I retapped the "T" fitting in the upper hose to 22mm x 1.50 pitch (was
used for a distributor retard thermo switch on '73 Tr6's) and installed it
there - although if you had a threaded port on your radiator, you could use
it there. It feeds a 30 Amp relay that switches the power to the fan.

Hope this helps,
