Hi Aaron,
When I did my conversion, the biggest problem was that the later year TR6's
(those with an air pump) had a different alternator mounting bracket then
the earlier TR6's. You can see the difference here
http://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/gm_alternator_conversion.htm I couldn't find
any way to mount the new alternator with the existing bracket so I had to
buy a pre-74 1/2 bracket from VB. Of course I never considered trying to
mount it upside down!. Any idea if your method will work with the post 74
1/2 bracket?

Having said that, I love your way of doing this whole thing without the need
to grind on the alternator. As you can see from my installation, there was a
lot of grinding done to make it all fit.

Nice job.

Hi List,

For those of you who might be interested I have posted the text of the
article I submitted for the 6-Pack magazine on the triumph owners web site.
The link is listed below. I have posted just one picture but will take some
more and post them of the different mounting points and the back of the
alternator so people can see the wiring etc. That is, once I get out to the
car and take them.

Incidentally, I asked Garth at triumphowners.com if he could make it
possible to order the photo categories in any order rather than just the
order they are entered and he did exactly that. So if any of you have
multiple photo categories and you would like to organize them into a
specific order you can now do so. My thanks to Garth for being so
accomodating.

Enjoy.

Aaron
