Ignoring the unimportant things like broken bones and insurance
payments, couldn't this do some rather weird things to the cam
chain/tensioner? If it broke a cam chain or tensioner then surely one
would be tempted to throw one's beer/whisky at the garage wall upon
discovering the damage. Whereas if it had merely broken one's arm then
one would not have been able to hold the beer in the first place and
thus the loss would be reduced. For some of us LBC means Life = Booze
and Cars. Note the ordering of the elements; it is not random. :^)

Of course, it may still break your arm as the crank handle flies around,
especially if the crank isn't restrained by a guide.

Bottom line, Paul, I think this is a _very_ bad idea.  It only takes a
few
bolts to temporarily hang a flywheel and starter ... I certainly
wouldn't
want to risk broken bones for that.
