I checked out a couple. The most believable claims only a 2 psi pressure.
They're also wired up to activate only at wide-open throttle. So for anything
other than complete lead-foot sustained acceleration the unit wouldn't even be
on and would just be another obstruction in the air intake path.

They might compensate for the pressure drop across the filter but little
else.  Note that the promotional literature proudly states that it won't
overstress your engine.  That's because it does nothing for it.
