i received my "new" 1979 tr7 last saturday. decided to repack the front
bearings. i removed the dust caps and found the dustcaps were "packed"
with a blue / grey grease!!! after digging all that out, i was able to
remove the clip, cover, nut, washer (which seals the grease from being
pressed out (OR IN) ) and finally the bearing. the bearings were fine and i
repacked them with fresh grease. since it's my car i couldn't laugh, but
could almost cry that someone could think they repacked the bearings by
packing the dust cap :( larry stein
