- I'll comment, sorry but this is not going to offer any encouragement. Ken Gillanders sells a 87mm racing liner off the shelf that has more meat where we need it, really much better suited for racing

- FWIW, one of my lathe books shows an "improved" setup for boring cylinders. It's a rather large diameter, apparently hollow bar, with a fixed rather than movable bushing so the length of bar outside
