If you put the GT6 3.27 ratio diff in a Spitfire, you'll be REAL slow off the I did it once and undid it once (74 Spitfire), but my engine is a high revver with no low end torque.. Clark

The rear grease fitting is to grease the hub bearings. As you said, there's little room in the plastic/tube area for the grease to go. If you assemble it with neversieze or grease it's good for life

If it originaly had twin SU's, It's from a 67-68 or 69 MkIII. The 70 MkIII had a single ZS. The 71 or 72 1300 is a different engine, similar to the 1500, also single ZS. The only transmission mating
