I thought that in those days, one ton panels were long (about the same as a modern Suburban) and 1/2 ton panels were short (about the same as a modern Tahoe)? I think this went all the way to the 67

I disagree about R12. A properly designed system with R134a will equal the performance of the R12 once the system is started. They just don't seem to have the instant cold that the R12 systems did. R
