Personally, I'd put them "in" the mount rather than on the side...grind the plates down ever so slightly, but that's me. Either way you slice it, make sure you have some sort of hole for moisture to

Bob--The ones TRF sells have a series of holes in them. This makes it easier to manoever the plates into position prior to the final welding. They just barely fit inside of the diff mounts on my car.
