Since the rockers are something like 1.5:1 (I don't remember the ratio offhand), shaving the head by 0.050" will reduce the gap by something like 0.075". If the ratio is higher, the effect is greater

I think something was mis-communicated. The head has NOT been shaved (yet). But the cam WAS reground, and discussion here jogged my memory that Ted mentioned I should look into getting the head shave
