- Joe, I have to disagree here. I theorize that 40 years of compression have created the flattened look which you describe. Was able to locate some 1/8 inch cross section O rings at Lowe's and 4 years

- If you have not destroyed the old washer and if it is the one I am thinking of it can be reinstalled. One needs to bend it so it is concave or convex. This changes the I.D. enough that it will come
