I take it that it doesn't have the original style bugeye pedal box in it because the original box does not have any provision for a brake light switch as it is mounted on the passenger side wheel arc

Yes it's rebuildable. Moss even sells a kit (181-995) for $6. What I did, I bought two O-rings, 3/16ID x 5/16 OD x 1/16" thick. First, remove the switch (it just unscrews), then take off the big nut
