I think Dean summed it up well. I entirely fail to understand the attraction of a roll bar in a street MG. It has no more real function than those silly wings on Hondas (which we love to make fun of)

I don't think it's the presence of chromium that is the problem -- it's the electrochemical plating process itself (nickel, copper, chrome, whatever). It's just that copper-plating doesn't come up as
