Dear all, My '65 BJ 8 Ph. 1 consumes way too much fuel, I am getting aroung 13 mpg. The ignition system including timing is checked and basically new, the carbs are reconditioned. Any ideas? Best, Ch

Have you checked to see if any fuel is leaking from either the bottom of your carb or from the float bowl overflow pipes? If fuel is leaking from the bottom of the carb then that means the needle je

Hi Chris, 13mpg corresponds to 18liters/100km, right? That's way too much. There are a lot of possibilities which can cause this high consumption. Ignition and carbs are the most likely ones, but you

G'day Chris Is that Imperial gallon or the deflated US gallon? For as long as I remember all I have managed out of the mine is 17 mpg (Imperial) normal driving and that increases to 21 while touring.

You need to start measureing in "Fun Per Gallon" not miles. If it don't stink, ain't bwoke, and gets you from A to B with out a problem, don't worry bout it. Drive it and have a good time. Gweedo, :)
