Has anyone retapped the threads for the grease nipple that goes on the lower wishbone for a TR3? My threading has gone bad and I can't fit a new grease nipple on the arm. As far as my measurements go

I'm pretty sure the thread is actually 1/8-27 NPT (National Pipe Tapered). Should be able to buy a tap at most hardware stores, Sears, etc. You'll likely either have to grind the end of the tap off,

I bought a tap for this application a few years ago and have used it on all lower wishbones with success. Its a 1/8-28 BSSP. British Standard ??? Pipe? Ed Woods

I'm pretty sure the grease fitting has a pipe thread. It's most likely a 1/8" pipe thread. This is a taper thread with 27 tpi, (not 28) and has a pitch diameter at the smallest end of the taper of .3

Picked up a 1/8"-27 pipe tap today at Sears and it worked perfectly. Thanks Scott

Beg to differ. I dug out the tap for this application. It's marked 1/8-28 BSPP G HS 55 degrees. It is not tapered. I would guess that the second "P" is for "plug" as in plug tap, which this one is. A

You may be right, although Mr Suhring just sent me an e-mail saying that the 1/8 NPT tap worked perfectly. I just assumed that, as most of the other fasteners on the car are Unified then the grease f
