- I unblocked mine at the same time I swapped in a diff. with new Lempert gears. (BTW Those gears are THE best mod I've made to the car since buying it in 1978. Thanks, Mike!) I still don't really use

- I seem to remember reading in a couple of publications that removing a "blanking plate" will allow access to 1st gear. I don't think there was any detail beyond that though. I can access 1st in mine,
