Correct me if I'm wrong, but Crane Cams owns the Allison nameplate, thus it is likely that the EI's in question are Allisons. Debates have raged in the past re: Allison EIs, but my 2 cents sez, they'

I have a Crane/Allison Ignition. Works well, but my gripe is that the brackets with which the optical gate is mounted inside the distributor is very fragile - thin cheap sheetmetal. It is easily bent

1) This is the "Allison Unit", oft mentioned. Crane bought Allison some time ago. A decent unit. Their coils are not bad either. 2) The hardware that goes in the distributor is a tad "too" universal
