How old is that bell housing? There were two different front covers used. The early ones have a scroll type seal as you describe. THe later ones have the means of adding a modern type of seal. If yo

John& Joe Is this an overcrive trans? I've read and from what I've seen (2 od transmissions) the overdrive trans was fitted with the scroll seal through 1980. I believe I read it in the Rimmer cat. w

I am not all that familiar with the single rail gearbox (don't have any but have sold a couple of them), so I can't comment on the front seal or the lack of thrust washer springs on that unit. Howev
