I would put another newer pressure gauge on and recheck. The oil pump wears at the gear/plate interface and this extra clearance allows bypass of the pressure. At least that is how my memory serves m

You can pull the pump easily with the motor in the car. Just drop the pan and it's right there. Either 7/16ths or 10mm bolt heads. One thing, oil will drip on your face and your body and put a large
