Update. Finally found time to play with the carbs. They stall out when lifting the damper. So I my the needle richer. (1976 carbs) The sync tool measures very different between the carbs. High number

It shouldn't be that difficult to sync them. Are you loosening the clamps for both carbs from the center linkage before trying to balance? mjb. _______________________________________________ Archive

Yup. Loosened the spring connectors clamps. I got them close finally. I'll take for a test drive (again) and see how the idle is and the dieseling is when I turn it off. Had a little run on last test

I'd check for leaks where the manifold mates to the head and at the carb gaskets. If you lived closer to Salt Lake City I'd say stop on by and I'll take a look. But the symptoms could be from an air

James What are you using on your lift test? This should not be more then a 1/16". Try using a .030 & a .025 feeler strip together or two .030's if you have them. What are your results? Dale _________
