Ammeter range is +30A to -30A but can be shunted to change that. Unless
rewired headlamps should go through ammeter although not fused. "Flash to
pass" function of hi beams on later models are not metered although if you
have that function you probably have a voltmeter instead of an ammeter.  If
audio amp is high powered you should run big wire (typically 8ga for 100+W)
directly from battery otherwise you'll be pushing existing wiring or at a
minimum the amp won't get the power it needs. If you're thinking of a lot of
extra loads earlier alternators won't cut it. Loads directly off the battery
will show up as positive charge on the ammeter.
