This past weekend, I bought a nice Craftsman tool box - 16 drawers, standing
nearly 5-1/2 feet tall (on sale - about $300). And, the best part is, its
nearly a color match to my 74TR6 - sapphire blue! I thought I had a lot of
tools to fill it up - but in reality, its pretty empty.
So, I started filling it with some of the parts that I bought and will be
installing later this Fall - next Spring. Still, pretty empty.
Then, I started to fill it the containers of oil I have - motor oil, rear
shock oil, carb oil, GL-3, etc. You guessed it - not even 1/2 full.
Next - old used parts I've accumulated. I'm pretty much a pack rat - plus,
my car was pretty much original - so I hate getting rid of the parts (for
example - the old blue oil filter bowel - plus 2 filters and relief, temp
switch, chrome headlight ring, 12 left over window seal clips, 3 left over
rear wheel studs, top 2 radiator hoses, 2 brake adjusters, etc) - even
though I'll probably never use them.
Then I thought - it would be nice if 6-Pack would have a "used parts swap"
page or forum. You know, everyone has those parts laying around from jobs
done in the past. You never know - one persons trash might be another
person's gold mine! I think this would be fun for all - better than Ebay.
Not only would you get something you need - you would be helping someone
else. I'm sure there is a way to do it.
I hope I'm not violating anything regarding this list's rules. Just an
idea.
